I know it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. It’s been busy around here including lots of gardening and of course, the iris parade. This year only 35 showed up compared to last year’s 41. We added eight new irises from Breck’s, but only two bloomed. But that’s okay. it still was a nice showing.
So here they are. If you are interested in the name, put your cursor over the picture.
The new 2023 iris bed by the shed only produced three of the many irises I planted down there last year. I was hoping to see irises I was given from my friend Jill and also from Sharon in Alabama. But no such luck. They all look so healthy. Hopefully, I’ll see them next year.
It seemed like there were eyes on me when I was working in the garden.
That’s all for now. Oh how the irises bring me such joy. Hope you are having a wonderful spring. More later.

There has been a bed of GrandMa irises in my backyard since I was a child. In spite of benign neglect, they bloom beautifully each spring. I always intend to work on the bed in the fall, but my gardening mojo unfortunately usually fades by then.
Janice, I remember my grandma having irises in her backyard. We never had them at home – not enough room with all of mom’s roses. You don’t have to wait until Fall. I have split them as early as June.
Your irises are beautiful Linda. I used to have many of these varieties, and your photos bring back so many lovely memories. Before we moved here, we had a large garden with huge iris beds. Now in my smaller garden, I have quite a few, but not as many as I wish I had. I was trying to pick a favourite from your photos, but just can’t do it. I love them all. I do love Blutique, especially as I’ve never seen this one.
Jennifer, Thank you. It’s hard to pick a favorite for sure. Yes, Blutique is a beauty. Thanks by stopping by.
